Grupo La Plana renews ISO 45001 safety certification at its Betxí corrugated plant
Grupo La Plana has renewed the ISO 45001 occupational health and safety certification at its Betxí corrugated packaging plant in Castellón.
Grupo La Plana has successfully renewed the ISO 45001 certification for its corrugated packaging plant in Betxí, Castellón. The audit, conducted by AENOR, validates the facility's ongoing compliance with the highest international standards for occupational health and safety management.
The certification covers critical operational areas within the 'Packaging Betxí' facility, focusing on operational risk management, accident prevention, and continuous improvement in workplace safety. In the corrugated cardboard manufacturing sector, where operators routinely interact with heavy machinery such as corrugators, die-cutters, and automated material handling systems, maintaining rigorous safety protocols is a fundamental operational requirement.
This renewal reinforces the safety framework at one of the company's most historically significant production sites. Grupo La Plana, founded in 1973, has grown to become the sixth-largest corrugated cardboard converter in Spain, reporting an annual turnover of approximately 160 million euros. The Betxí plant has been a cornerstone of this expansion, having undergone successive modernization phases, including the early automation of its finished product and pressing warehouses.
By maintaining the ISO 45001 standard alongside its existing environmental and quality certifications, Grupo La Plana ensures that its production growth aligns with strict ESG criteria. The integration of these safety management systems not only protects the workforce but also minimizes operational disruptions, ensuring a stable supply chain for its clients in the food, retail, and industrial sectors.
