Voith has officially completed the multi-million-dollar expansion of its roll service center in West Monroe, Louisiana. Increasing the facility's footprint by nearly 50%, the project marks the company's largest recent investment in North America for its Voith Paper division, signaling a strong commitment to regional aftermarket support.
Boosting Mechanical Roll Services
The upgraded site significantly enhances Voith's mechanical roll service capabilities. David Buchanan, President FRS North America at Voith, emphasized the strategic need to increase capacity to meet growing customer demand across the continent. The expansion modernizes the workflow for maintenance, repairs, and upgrades of massive industrial rolls used in paper mills, ensuring faster turnaround times and reduced downtime for manufacturers.
New Dedicated Training Center
Beyond sheer operational capacity, the West Monroe site now houses a dedicated Voith Paper Training Center. This addition provides hands-on education and technical instruction for customers, current employees, and future industry professionals, addressing the ongoing need for specialized skills in paper machine maintenance.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony on October 13 brought together key figures including Joe Williams, Sherry Bohannon, Jeff Berg, and Adam Leach, alongside local representatives, to celebrate the facility's opening and its impact on the local industrial landscape.
Investing in localized, high-capacity service centers is a smart move to minimize downtime for North American paper mills, proving that aftermarket support is just as critical as new machinery sales.
