Gallus and Heidelberg target Indian label converters with 120m/min rotary screen module
Gallus and HEIDELBERG return to LOUPE India for the first time since 2012 to debut the 120m/min Gallus Screeny Printing Unit for narrow-web label converters.
Strategic Return to the South Asian Market
Gallus Group and HEIDELBERG have confirmed their joint participation at LOUPE India 2026, marking their first appearance at the South Asian trade show since 2012. Scheduled from October 29 to November 1 at the India Expo Centre & Mart in Delhi NCR, the return underscores a strategic realignment to capture growth in India's rapidly expanding label and narrow-web packaging sector.
Debut of the Gallus Screeny Printing Unit
At Booth K14, the companies will debut the Gallus Screeny Printing Unit to the Indian market. The compact, independent rotary screen printing module is engineered to operate at mechanical speeds of up to 120 meters per minute. Designed for integration into existing narrow-web presses across different brands, the unit allows converters to apply high-opacity white inks and tactile embellishments, which are increasingly demanded by premium consumer brands in the region.
The 14-year absence from the formerly named Labelexpo India makes this a significant operational update for HEIDELBERG India. Samir Patkar, president of Heidelberg India, noted that the event provides a critical platform to engage directly with local converters and address their shifting production priorities. The Indian market is currently experiencing a structural transition, with traditional label converters expanding into short-run flexible packaging, shrink sleeves, and smart labels.
To support this transition, the joint showcase will focus on workflow optimization and scalable production configurations. By offering retrofittable modules like the Gallus Screeny, the manufacturers aim to help Indian converters extend the capabilities of their existing pressroom assets without requiring entirely new fixed-press investments. This modular approach aligns with the regional demand for cost-effective, high-quality output in a highly competitive converting landscape.
