Strategic hardware deployment ahead of Bengaluru's major industry gathering

Tomorrow, October 23, 2026, the 17th edition of the South Print Pack expo will open its doors at the Tripura Vasini Palace Grounds in Bengaluru. Against the backdrop of an event expecting over 12,000 trade buyers and more than 100 exhibiting brands, ColorJet is positioning its digital printing portfolio to capture the growing demand for versatile, short-run production in the Indian packaging and signage sectors.

The Indian manufacturer has confirmed the display of two of its core industrial machines: the 3.2-metre Soniq I and the hybrid-ready Verve LED X. This selection highlights a deliberate strategy to address both the large-format flexible display market and the increasingly complex requirements of rigid substrate printing.

Technical capabilities of the Verve LED X

For the converting and packaging industry, the Verve LED X represents the more operationally significant piece of hardware on display. Operating on UV printing technology, the machine is engineered to handle a maximum media thickness of 100 mm across a 1300x2500 mm print bed. This capacity is critical for packaging converters looking to diversify into high-margin, short-run rigid applications.

The system's architecture includes:

  • Printhead technology: Equipped with four Konica Minolta printheads.
  • Color configuration: CMYK plus White (CMYK+W), essential for maintaining color accuracy on dark or transparent substrates.
  • Substrate versatility: Capable of printing directly onto foam board, PVC, acrylic, glass, wood, and metal sheets.

The hybrid readiness of the Verve LED X allows print service providers to transition seamlessly between roll-to-roll jobs and rigid board printing, a flexibility that reduces the need for multiple specialized machines on the production floor.

Scaling large-format production with Soniq I

Alongside the UV hybrid system, ColorJet is showcasing the Soniq I. With its 3.2-metre width, this machine targets the high-volume indoor and outdoor signage market. While primarily focused on the display sector, the integration of such wide-format capabilities is increasingly relevant for corrugated converters exploring large-scale retail ready packaging (RRP) and point-of-sale (POS) displays.

As the South Print Pack 2026 exhibition runs through October 25, the presence of domestic manufacturers like ColorJet underscores a broader shift in the Indian market. Local converters are increasingly prioritizing equipment that offers a lower total cost of ownership and accessible technical support, moving away from exclusive reliance on imported hardware for their digital transformation.
